The Children’s Ministry Director is a dedicated and compassionate leader responsible for working in collaboration with the pastoral team to develop a vibrant, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive Children’s Ministry. This role serves children in kindergarten through 5th grade and requires a candidate with a deep passion for working with children, excellent organizational & intrapersonal skills, and previous cross-cultural and ministry experience. The focus will be on creating engaging opportunities for children to grow spiritually, fostering strong relationships with volunteers, and involving parents in the spiritual and personal growth of their children.Responsibilities:

Creating a Welcoming Environment:Research, adopt and implement a children’s ministry curriculum for use during sermon time that is gospel centered, age-appropriate, culturally inclusive, and teacher-friendly.Create a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment where children from all backgrounds feel valued and loved.Leading Programs:Lead and maintain children’s discipleship programs, including Sunday morning activities (Sunday School and Children’s Church), midweek programming and summer activities.Collaborate with nursery ministry director to ensure cohesion between nursery and children’s programming.Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers to create a cohesive and effective team.Provide weekly lesson guidance and resources to volunteers, ensuring they are well-equipped to present lessons in a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive way.Ensure all volunteers are in compliance with the Child Safeguarding Policy.Planning Events:Coordinate with Pastoral Staff to facilitate communicants classes as needed.Organize quarterly activities or family-focused events, workshops or seminars that encourage spiritual growth, relationship building and social development.Parent Involvement:Collaborate with parents to provide resources and support for their role in nurturing their child’s faith and character.Establish open lines of communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child’s spiritual and personal development.Administrative Duties:Ordering, organizing and distributing supplies.Tracking attendance to measure growth and assess whether additional classes need added to meet needs.Prepare and manage the children’s ministry budget and demonstrate fiscal accountability regarding all transactions.Making copies and preparing lesson and activity materials for each class on Sundays.Cross-Cultural Sensitivity:Demonstrate cultural competence and awareness, ensuring all activities and teachings are respectful and inclusive of diverse cultural backgrounds, including providing resources to volunteers to enhance their cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.Position Qualifications:

Qualifications Include:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Theology, Child Development, or a related field preferred.Previous experience working in children’s ministry with a focus on cross-cultural engagement.Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to inspire and motivate volunteers, parents, and children.Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in children’s ministry.First Aid and CPR certification preferred.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Application Deadline:
