Charisma Event Productions is a boutique audio visual events company with a warehouse in American Fork. We serve the corporate event industry providing full A/V for business conferences, summits, and meetings. We provide our clients with screens, microphones, lighting, stages, backdrops, cameras, and talented technicians to run it all.
We're looking for a dynamic individual to oversee the production process and all technical aspects of our events. This hybrid role combines the expertise of a Technical Director with the organizational skills of a Production Manager. You will be responsible for making quotes, selling the client, planning the production, and carrying out the entirety of the event. Our talented team will assist in helping you produce incredible events.
Technical Directing & Production Management Responsibilities:Producing spectacular events is the core of our business. This individual needs to have a deep and broad knowledge of audio, video, lighting, power distribution, and rigging to ensure quotes and plots/renderings are accurate. You are responsible for ensuring we meet or exceed our clients expectations.
Develop event objectives and review event proposals in with potential clients ensuring a high close rate within targeted profit margins
Create mockups and renderings
Attend client meetings, on-sites, and briefings
Create event designs based on customer requirements and ensure cost estimates stay within budget parameters
Develop and maintain event schedules, labor schedules, equipment, and vehicle logistics
Lead the production team in implementing technical requirements for each event (Audio, lighting, rigging, power distro, streaming, stage design, etc.)
Manage and oversee our the setup and operation of audio, lighting, and video equipment ensuring our technicians are following guidelines and best practices
Ensure the safety and security of all technical equipment and personnel
Create innovative backdrops and set designs with the help of our partners
Lead the research, acquisition, and implementation of new equipment, ensuring we are using the best technology at all times
Assist in managing the equipment inventory system (Lasso)
Technical Director + Production Manager Experience:This hybrid role requires a seasoned A/V tech with expansive knowledge in every vertical of production. Although these roles are often split for larger companies, we know this hybrid role is the perfect fit for where our company is at right now. This role will develop and change as we grow.
4+ years planning productions
4+ years leading the technical planning and execution of events
4+ years leading crews for set and strike
4+ years as an A1 audio engineer
4+ years as an V1 video engineer
4+ years of rigging experience
2+ years as an L1/L2 lighting engineer
2+ years creating and presenting quotes to clients
2+ years creating mockups and renderings (Vectorworks, Capture.se, etc.)

Day to Day Expectations:
Work average of 45-50 hours a week depending on our event schedule
Work from your home or the warehouse when not on shows
Ability to work long and tiring hours with the typical event production schedule
Create your own projects and to-do lists to help the company move forward in a faster and more efficient manner
Individuals that tend to be a good fit for this role have a wealth of experience in live event audio visual working at a theater, as a freelancer, or as a full time technician, producer, or technical director for companies like WEBB, Cornerstone, P3, Mountain View Staging, Encore, Upstage, FatFish, Modern Display, etc.
