About the Role
This role is to lead the migration of our entire Delivery experience to a new, more efficient and effective set of frameworks, while maintaining the high level of performance we currently enjoy. This will affect the experience of every Uber Eats user.
In the future, this individual will be a leader in determining strategic direction, collaborating to define the plans of implementation, and owning the path to success for these plans. This will set the direction for key engineering and product efforts.
In the organization, this individual will raise the bar on what it means to be a TPM at Uber. You will be a leader and thought partner both to individuals within the Delivery engineering organization and the TPM team.
What the Candidate Will Do:
Lead cross-functional teams to stay on track, plan next steps, and deal with complications.
Partner with engineering leads to evaluate technical strategy and criteria for success, providing feedback throughout the program to ensure an appropriate path forward.
Communicate plans, status, and risks with the intent of achieving program success where possible and producing clarity where challenges exist.
Work closely with engineering and product to conceptualize strategic initiatives and solutions and develop those into detailed program/project plans.
Project manage technical, complex, large scale, cross-team, cross-functional initiatives from planning to execution.
Accelerate execution velocity of programs and drive accountability by tracking progress, resolving dependencies, identifying issues, mitigating risks, and communicating status to key program stakeholders.
Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
Engage, energize, and lead teams as an owner for high-impact initiatives.
Basic Qualifications:
Proven experience of 7+ years as a TPM or Engineering Manager in a software, SaaS, or systems development environment with an overall experience of 10+ years.
Training in computer science, systems engineering, or comparable experience.
Strong technical experience in platform development for e-commerce and/or mobile applications at scale.
Solid technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks. Engineers enjoy working closely with you.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and exceptional emotional intelligence.
Proven strong cross-team and cross-org stakeholder management. Ability to influence, motivate, and align people across a broad variety of job functions through your relationships.
Strong organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items.
Analytical and truth-seeking. Ability to understand complex concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
Data-driven: Experience determining effective program KPI's and using them to measure program success and issues. Strong technical, analytical, and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive decisions.
Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to apply them where best suited.
Detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities are constantly evolving as the business grows and adapts globally.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For Seattle, WA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program and may be offered an equity award & other types of compensation. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
