FOOD: Groceries with Grace Drive Up Food Distribution
Oceanside First Presbyterian Church's Groceries with Grace program serves 70-80 families each month. The program provides each family with dry goods, fresh produce, and proteins. The families they serve are food insecure and are often not sure where their next meal is coming from or they have to choose between eating and other necessities.Groceries with Grace volunteers set up tables and pop up tents then sort, bag, carry, and distribute groceries to families in their cars.Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire:
Closed-toe shoes and casual clothing. Volunteers will be in both indoor and outdoor spaces throughout this project so you may want sun protection such as a hat and sunscreen.Bring:
Water bottlePhysical Requirements:
Lifting bags of groceries and standing for about an hour during the distribution. Accommodations as needed can be made for individuals with physical limitations. The project space is wheelchair accessible.Weather:
This event takes place rain or shine.Religious Observance:
