The role involves working closely with experienced data scientists to innovate new research methods. The position aims to generate business value by solving unstructured problems with diverse analytical approaches.In this role you can expect to have the responsibilities:
Analyze large and complex data sets to solve unstructured problems independently.Lead the ingestion and cleaning of data sets, ensuring stability by accounting for data drift.Build and refine complex econometric, statistical, and machine learning models for various analyses.Promote models into production systems and write complex code for model repositories.Develop self-healing models and adjust them based on performance metrics and business feedback.Create educational materials and consumable model outputs for business discussions.Review code for efficiency and accuracy.Adhere to risk and regulatory standards and escalate risk-related issues as necessary.Promote an inclusive environment that supports M&T Bank’s diversity values.Maintain internal control standards and comply with audit points.This role comes with the following benefits:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or 9 years of combined higher education and experienceExperience with statistics and data science principles such as AB testing, sample selection, hypothesis testing, and modeling biasProficiency with statistical software and languagesExperience with hybrid databases on premise and in the cloudIntermediate knowledge of SQL and nSQLIntermediate understanding of modeling techniques like Bayesian Modeling, Classification models, Cluster analysis, Neural Network, Non-parametric methods, and Multivariate statisticsExperience analyzing large data setsYou would benefit from having:
