ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a NOC Tier 2 Watch/Network Administrator in support of a communication system for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise. This exciting program provides Engineering and Operations for the continual design, transition, operations, and service improvement activities associated with the LAN, WAN, and Unified Communication services (Voice, Video, & Data) on multiple classified and unclassified networks.
Tier 2 support of the Network Operation Center provides enhanced customer support and attempts to resolve incidents that sent from Tier 1 support. At Tier 2, incident management usually functions alongside problem management as an analysis of incidents may indicate a larger problem.
Tier 2 responsibilities include:
Responding to incidents and Service Requests sent by Tier 1, and documenting additional information and solutions as needed
Supporting the 24x7 operations of the NOC
Providing Incident analysis and identification of potential problems
Performing root cause analyses
Performing technical refresh activities when required
Resolving Service Requests and entering solutions into the Solutions database
Using experience and knowledge to understand/implement potential workarounds
Supporting the configuration, deployment, and management of network monitoring systems used by the technicians to ensure availability and overall performance of system and network services.
Accessing network components to research errors, incidents, problems and to perform incident analysis and identify potential problems
As necessary, escalating Service Requests to Tier 3 or the appropriate organization required for incident resolution
Communicating changes in health and performance of all designated systems.
Supporting the generation of reports and briefings detailing network and Unified Communication operations, including incidents, performance, health, and other analytics.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI with poly or ability to pass Polygraph examination
High School/GED + 9 Yrs, or Associates + 7 Yrs, or Bachelors + 5 Yrs, or Masters + 3 Yrs, or PhD + 0
Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Experience utilizing trouble ticket systems like ServiceNow
Excellent customer service, writing and oral communication skills
In-depth knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN and Unified Communication (UC) technology, tools and services.
Demonstrated experience as a Network Administrator in a Network Operations center environment
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Target Salary Range$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
