Senior Integration Specialist - Cloud Architect

who will support the 2026 Census Test Technical Integration Program.

The Mission:

The Decennial Census plays a critical role in our nation's governance, informing congressional representation and guiding the allocation of $1.5 trillion in federal funding each year. In preparation for 2030, T-Rex is seeking highly skilled and motivated Integration Specialists to join the 2026 Census Test IT (26CT) Integration program.

The Decennial requires innovative, scalable IT solutions to support the count of every person living in the United States and its territories. Decennial systems must scale to process millions of daily responses, support the largest non-military workforce mobilization in the world (350k+ workers), and maintain the highest standards of data security and individual privacy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

As a

Senior Integration Specialist

on this program, you will play a key role in laying the groundwork for the design and integration of the technology infrastructure that will underpin this high-profile mission. Integration Specialists are responsible for ensuring that all components of the 26CT systems work together seamlessly, efficiently, and securely. You will develop and mature advanced systems that:

Facilitate comprehensive data collection using cloud computing, mobile technology, and data analytics

Support nationwide field operations, enabling coverage of hard-to-reach populations

Improve government efficiency with the use of modern technologies that reduce complexity and drive right-size scaling to meet operational demands

Design and integrate mobile device solutions, field IT infrastructure, and identity management systems to support nationwide data collection

Develop and implement an integrated operations center and help desk system to manage and monitor census operations in real-time

Conduct comprehensive gap analysis and risk assessments to ensure all systems meet operational requirements

Plan and execute rigorous testing to validate solution interoperability, scalability, and performance under realistic operational conditions

Collaborate closely with Census Bureau teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with operational needs

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and solution architecture design recommendations and provide actionable insights to inform planning for the 2030 Census

Education, Experience & Certification Requirements:

BA/BS with five (5)+ years experience leading projects focused on Cloud Architect

US Citizenship with ability to obtain a

Public Trust clearance , which involves a background investigation to determine suitability for access to sensitive data

Ability to use creative problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels

Proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile and Scrum

Experience working in a government or public sector environment is a plus

Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field desired

Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Cisco, PMP) are a plus

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively

Passion for public service and a commitment to the mission of the Census Bureau

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

As a Senior Integration Specialist focused on Cloud Architect, you will apply your expertise in designing scalable, resilient architectures using multi-cloud platforms to ensure IT systems can scale to handle the size and complexity of the Decennial Census.

Extensive experience designing scalable, resilient architectures using cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

Expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for efficient deployment and orchestration

Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation for consistent, repeatable infrastructure provisioning

Knowledge of serverless architectures using services like AWS Lambda and Azure Functions for cost-effective processing of high-volume workloads

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

Basic office work environment at government facility location

Hours of operation are M-F during core business hours.

Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days

Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer
