Director of Leisure Sales

Starting Salary $100,000 + incentive. 60% Travel required.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Director of Leisure Sales is responsible for maintaining and growing Revenue for assigned property with special emphasis on growing Leisure Consortia, BAR, Package, and Promotion market segments. Director will primarily focus on American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Capital One Premier Collection, Internova, Signature, The Edit by Chase, Virtuoso, and other applicable partnerships. Director will liaise with Salamander Global Sales team and Salamander Collection properties as needed. External responsibilities include targeting and securing new accounts, conducting direct sales calls, attending travel and trade show-related activities and property presentations to retail travel agencies and reservation call centers, in person and virtually. Internal responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Front Office, Reservations, and other cross-department training, evaluating and analyzing production reports, and participating in regular sales and revenue meetings. This position must actively communicate with the Director of Sales and Marketing, Reservations, Revenue Management and Marketing Teams as well as the General Manager and Vice President of Leisure Sales.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Increase revenue focusing on retail agencies, consortia partnerships, packages, and qualified discount segments in assigned markets.

Generate leads and respond to customer inquiries and pricing requests promptly.

Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.

Plan and execute sales calls, presentations, and client entertainment with retail travel agents, luxury travel managers, and other intermediaries.

Host and direct on-property Travel Partner FAM Trips, site inspections, and educational tours.

Develop and execute sales strategies to support revenue objectives of the assigned hotel.

Support and promote leisure packages, offers, and promotions in collaboration with the Revenue Management and Marketing Teams.

Monitor implementation of packages and offers with operational departments and deploy to luxury partnerships (e.g., FH&R, Virtuoso, Signature).

Work collaboratively with Corporate and Group sales teams, home office, and Salamander Collection properties.

Execute additional projects and duties as assigned by Home Office, GM, and/or DOSM.

Travel as required based on the sales and marketing plan, focusing on retail travel agencies, consortia, and partnership accounts.

Communicate VIP arrivals and ensure guests receive applicable amenities.

Effectively manage the Leisure Sales Budget for individual property.

Conduct monthly account review meetings with property DOSM and Home Office Team.

Implement and promote marketing initiatives as outlined in the marketing plan for key accounts.

Effectively cross-sell Resort outlets and revenue centers (e.g., spa, dining, and activities).

Prepare account performance reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Regularly communicate with Preferred Hotels & Resorts and participate in industry events as applicable.

Conduct research on key account room night/revenue performance at competitive-set hotels.

Monitor and understand leisure sales strategies and promotional programs of the competitive set.

Consistently present a polished, professional image of the assigned property and Salamander brand.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of five (5) years related sales experience and training, or an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and related sales experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of Delphi or Salesforce, Opera, and front office systems.

Ability to create and interpret revenue reports to lead the revenue management process.

Ability to analyze STR reports, Hoteligence, Datavision, and other analytical tools for sales and revenue management.

Overnight travel is required.

May require evening, night, holiday, and weekend assignments on occasion.

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
