The Section Chief will be responsible for advancing the division's mission to provide exceptional patient care, cutting-edge research, and world-class education in arthroplasty. This leadership role requires a visionary who can foster a collaborative environment that supports innovation, excellence, and the professional development of faculty, staff, and trainees.Essential Functions
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Division of Arthroplasty.Recruit, retain, and cultivate a collaborative and talented faculty team to expand the Division of Arthroplasty.Collaborate with departmental and institutional leadership to align the division’s goals with the broader mission of the COM and UC Health.Oversee the delivery of high-quality arthroplasty services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.Expand the outpatient arthroplasty program and build out a complimentary robotic arthroplasty program.Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and best practices in arthroplasty including registry requirements.Lead the division’s educational programs, including residency training in arthroplasty and update the resident curriculum for adult reconstruction and arthroplasty.Mentor and support faculty, trainees, and students in their academic and professional development.Drive the division’s research agenda, promoting innovative and impactful research in arthroplasty while collaborating with faculty in other departmental divisions.Secure extramural funding and support faculty in obtaining research grants and conducting high-quality research and assist in developing a clinical trials program for the division.Lead the divisional efforts at growing the academic portfolio of the department.M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent.Successful completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.Successful completion of an Adult Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship.A demonstrable record of success in academic achievement, with incrementally increased regional and national reputation.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary range dependent on the candidate's experience.Comprehensive insurance plans including medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.Flexible spending accounts and an award-winning employee wellness program, plus an employee assistance program.Financial security via our life and long-term disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, and retirement savings plans.Generous paid time off work options including vacation, sick leave, annual holidays, and winter season days in addition to paid parental leave.Tuition remission is available for employees and their eligible dependents.Enjoy discounts for on and off-campus activities and services.As a UC employee, and an employee of an Ohio public institution, if hired you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare.
