Job Description:Electrical Manager (Instrumentation & Controls Department)

This job is located in our Fort Worth office.

Relocation assistance will be considered on a case by case basis.

What You’ll Do

Lead a team of engineers across a variety of industries/sectors through the entire project life cycle including conceptual studies, specification, development, integration, testing and start-up.

Oversee and support projects including planning, scheduling, creating technical standards, productivity, and workloads.

Ensure timely and thorough design coordination with technical delivery team leads and project design managers; conduct 30/60/90 design progress milestone reviews.

Assume responsibility for the overall success of team and projects managers.

Communicate project updates to the project team and the client.

Assist in the preparation of proposals for new scopes of work including defining the scope of activities and estimating necessary level of effort (person-hours).

Recognize when extra or out-of-scope engineering work is requested or performed; assist the project managers with change management.

Apply a broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work groups in support of related operations.

Assume and support recruiting responsibilities.

Develop training objectives and strategies, and mentor and guide team members.

Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team.

What You’ll Bring

A minimum of 10 years of experience in the design and production of construction document packages for industrial design within the high tech, food & beverage, or pharmaceutical industries.

Solid knowledge of complex architecture & design process systems, instrumentation, device selection, networking, PLC & I/O architectures, P&IDs, data sheets, and SCADA.

Experience in the oversight of projects that incorporate engineering, design, and programming of integrated and automated manufacturing systems.

Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication, leadership, teamwork, partnering, and mentoring skills.

Experienced in developing solid client relationships.

Experience as an Engineer of Record.

Willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions.

Bachelor of science in instrument & controls, electrical, electronic, chemical, or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

A professional engineer (PE) license and a willingness to obtain professional engineer (PE) licenses in additional states.
