Medical Solutions Lead

is accountable for the planning and implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy for the assigned therapeutic area ( core Epilepsy ) and serves as a key member of the therapeutic area cross-functional solution team.You will drive the execution of medical initiatives and tactics to address local gaps in evidence, medical education, and quality of care initiatives.Who you'll work with:Collaborate and align with the Medical Strategy Lead, the cross-functional solutions team, and the customer-facing teams.Engage and partner with internal and external experts and stakeholders to co-create innovative solutions that address gaps in the local care management landscape that will enhance standards of care for patients.Seek and collect insights on the local care management landscape for the assigned therapeutic area and consult with external experts (e.g., advisory board, consolidated field medical insights, competitive intelligence and industry reports and guidelines).Engage with National and international Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in the respective Area country.Inform and contribute to the development of patient engagement initiatives and insights collection with patient organizations/advocacy.What you'll do:Drive execution of regional and global initiatives adapted to local context and aligned with ecosystem leads, medical operations, and cross-functional stakeholders.Initiate excellence leveraging innovation and technology to build solutions and communication plans via local omnichannel strategy tailored to stakeholder audiences, planning and solution development.Strategically support the publication plan in collaboration with the Regional publications and global scientific communication & publication teams.Author, review, and assist with scientific publications, including abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and encore publications. Generate medical and scientific information materials. Ensure accuracy and appropriateness of promotional and non-promotional materials, symposia, and events.Develop local medical solutions and initiatives to address identified gaps in evidence generation, medical education, and quality of care, in line with the ecosystem team and local patient value drivers for the assigned therapeutic area.Understand the patient journey, moments of meaning, and local care management practices for patients to help inform and tailor solutions according to patient value drivers.Identify opportunities and support operations related to local RWE evidence studies, IIS (investigator-initiated studies), and registries.Lead and contribute to insight collection initiatives such as advisory boards and area-country presence at global and local congresses including adapting global symposia and submitting encore publications at local congresses.Ensure compliance with UCB and local regulations (regulatory, pharma codes, etc.) for all medical affairs deliverables.Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience, and skills:Minimum Qualifications:MD, PhD, PharmD, and/or advanced practitioner.Minimum of 3 years in a Medical Affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry.Minimum of 2 years in Epilepsy or a similar and translatable clinical experience.Minimum of 2 years of experience with promotional materials (e.g., review, develop, and edit).Minimum of 2 years of experience with medical educational materials (e.g., review, develop, and edit).Preferred Qualifications:Experience as a first reviewer on medical information materials, abstracts/posters, and/or manuscripts; experience with the corresponding review committee procedures and policies.Experience with collecting insights and driving insights into an actionable strategy (i.e., proven track record of contribution to medical affairs strategies).Solid peer relationships and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.Solid relationships and exposure to external scientific/clinical experts (i.e., HCPs).Demonstrated ability to proactively engage both internal and external leaders and serve as a subject matter expert for the assigned therapeutic area.Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry environment and healthcare systems.Good understanding of clinical study management, clinical development processes, and real-world evidence-generation plans and practices.Excellent planning and organizational skills.Strong leadership and management skills, preferably with experience in projects managed (e.g., metrics/KPI) and delivered via a matrixed organization.This position's reasonably anticipated base salary range is $141,760-$186,060 per year.
