Job descriptionBackground and ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Senior Java Developer that will be based onsite in our New York, NY office. The role is for a key member of the FMG Portfolio Modeling Analytics team. FMG Portfolio Modeling Analytics team uses multiple technologies (Java/J2EE, Python, R) and providesstable, scalable platform with appropriate standards and procedures to support the diverse nature and demands of a wide range of investment teams and clients.Qualifications:BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or similar area. An advanced degree is a plus.Minimum of 5-6 years demonstrated experience in core Java programming, multi-threading and understanding of Java Memory model. Practical experience programming and code optimization for real-time data streams processing.Confident in building models to solve problems including time series forecasting, clustering problems and hands on experience with a range of statistical and machine learning approaches.Strong background in Mathematics: statistics, probability, linear algebra is a big plus.Previous experience or knowledge in pricing or market liquidity is not required but a big plus.Previous experience with Cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure) and working for top Tech companies is a big plus.Experience with UNIX operating system and relational databases.Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easilyAbility to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.What are the 3-4 non-negotiable requirements of this position?
Must have demonstrated core java experience, ideally within an asset management firm; minimum of 6 years demonstrated experienceWhat are the nice-to-have skills?
