This is what #LifeAtBNY is all about.We’re seeking a future team member for the role of European Bank Head of ICAAP to join our Corporate Treasury team. This role is to be based in either Frankfurt or Brussels. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the end-to-end capital stress testing and ICAAP process for the European Bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for a team, and the incumbent will have a reporting line locally into the European Bank Treasurer and functionally into the Global Head of Balance Sheet and Capital Management and will be responsible to drive both global requirements into the region and ensure the framework meets local regulatory obligations.In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:Perform Internal capital assessments with associated forecasts (BAU and stress), and identify capital related management actions.Deliver the internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process document and Capital Stress Testing for Recovery and Resolution Planning.Conduct capital stress testing (economic downturn and ad-hoc), reverse stress testing, and sensitivity analysis to be used as part of the ICAAP and Capital Planning.Lead the Capital Stress Testing Committee to ensure robust governance around the ICA and associated capital stress tests.Leads the user test analysis of model results and determination of actions to be taken as a result of model outputs once model efficacy has been established.Establishes work processes to ensure calculations comply with rules set by the regulator(s) or internal Bank standards.Has direct oversight for the technical direction and/or submission of a calculation or set of calculations related to capital adequacy or stress testing.Cultivates relationships with peers in the businesses, Risk Management, Finance and Corporate Treasury to ensure efficient collection of data inputs. Provides advice on specific business decisions that will affect capital risk management.Act as the point of contact for the Regulators on the matter.Develops and oversees the schedule and policies/procedures for the preparation of the submission.Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and the business for ICAAP and stress testing; conducts applicable research and makes recommendations for responding to emerging/changing regulatory requirements affecting capital adequacy requirements.Maintain strong relationships with senior management across the Business, Boards of Directors, Risk management, finance and US based counterparts.Coordinate the Execution of the bi-annual ECB stress testing exercise (once every 2 years consistently with ECB planning). Responsibilities include main point of contact with Regulators, coordination of ECB stress testing project with support of the several business lines involved.To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:Advanced modelling techniques for credit, market, operational and concentration risk.Data quality management, data analysis and reconciliation processes.Forecasting economic and regulatory capital.Maintenance and use of automated stress testing tools.Credible communication skills to be able to explain, influence, and obtain buy-in for these approaches from executive management, committees and Board members.Manage relationships with local regulatory bodies across different regions, both in terms of written communications and also management of capital related supervisory reviews, therefore demonstrable experience of supervisory review processes is vital.Highly self-motivated and able to manage high volumes of workloads and priorities effectively during peak times to the standards and will also be responsible to work with local and global stakeholders to drive continual improvements to meet regulatory obligations.Strong knowledge of the BNY organization and its products and services.Minimum of MBA or MS with 10-15 years of direct relevant work experience including extensive risk management and quantitative analytics.Proven understanding of current regulatory stress testing guidelines is essential.Preferably, prior knowledge or experience of Cognos TM1, Advanced modelling techniques (Credit, operational and Market risks), EU, PRA, ECB and NBB supervisory approaches.At BNY, our culture speaks for itself.
