Join our world-class, innovative team today.Position Specific DescriptionThe Power Generation Division (PGD) Engineer will support the Energy Storage Engineering team at NextEra Energy by applying engineering principles to evaluate the performance of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role involves developing testing programs and analyzing data for BESS capacity testing and system performance.Key Responsibilities:Support contractual capacity testing coordination and planningProgram management of degradation testing and analysis of degradation ratesValidation of measured energy and conversion efficiencyAnalysis of operating parameters and their contribution to degradation ratesOnboarding of new equipment into testing programDesired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldAdvanced degree in Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 2 years of experience in BESS equipment, data analytics, or computer modeling2+ years of experience working in forecasting and predictive analyticsSkills & Abilities:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with operations team members, management, and internal analytics teams.Proficiency with relevant software tools and systems used in site operations and data analysis.Job Overview
