It’s Day 1 for Amazon’s next billion dollar business and we are looking for an entrepreneurial minded Finance Manager to work in a start-up environment who is passionate about technology, is interested in analyzing new business opportunities, who thinks/acts globally, and has the ability to create and implement solutions to business questions.

The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial by nature, a strategic thinker, analytical in approach, have a demonstrated ability to develop financial models that provide intelligence for business decisions. This role requires a self-starter with superb business modeling skills, a keen attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Finance Manager in Biz Ops Finance org. will support Senior Manager and Director in defining the Business Assurance strategy and implementation of Business Assurance controls across the Kuiper work streams. The Finance Manager is also responsible for tracking and holding the business partners accountable for performance against the OP and R&O plans and providing insights on drivers for variances. This requires the Finance Manager to exercise Financial Controllership and develop actionable analysis of the financial impact of changing business needs. This requires the role to Dive Deep and index strongly on Are Right, A Lot.

Key job responsibilities

Perform analysis of revenue and costs, evaluate financial improvement opportunities and build controls to assure revenue and cost within end-to-end processes.

Responsible for BA participation in Enterprise projects through feasibility to project/product implementation and post launch validation.

Lead and/or support audit/control development, configuration, validation, operations, discrepancy review, ROI creation, and reporting are successfully led to meet requirements, timelines, and budgets as defined by BA leadership.

Process improvements and new opportunities are identified and prioritized by working collaboratively with business partners.

Manage and develop revenue assurance audits and controls to oversee revenue and cost flows.

Work with business teams to review and improve existing processes.

Extract and analyze revenue and cost data to detect leaks and opportunities to improve margins.

Review upcoming marketing offers to determine financial risks.

Perform post-mortem analysis of launched offers to verify implementation accuracy and validate business case assumptions and outcomes.

Document and present audit results, analytical findings and proposed solutions.

Foster relationships with key cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.

6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.

6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.

6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience.

Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.

6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience.

MBA, or CPA.

Knowledge of SQL/ETL.

Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).

Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
