RBHS includes eight schools, a behavioral health network, and six centers and institutes that focus on cancer treatment and research, neuroscience, clinical and translational research, advanced biotechnology and medicine, environmental and occupational health, and health care policy and aging research.Posting Summary:Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Data Analyst for the department of Pediatrics at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. The Data Analyst will support faculty within the Joint Program in Population and Prevention Sciences (J3PS) – a joint program of the Department of Pediatrics and the Child Health Institute of NJ. In this role the analyst will support collaborative research in the areas of systemic influences of health and related practices and impacts of primary care.Among the key duties of this position are the following:Work with project leadership to develop valid and reliable plans for analyses consistent with underlying conceptual and operational models and the study design.Collaborate, develop, and suggest epidemiological and statistical analyses supporting faculty research projects.Develop and run statistically advanced programs in SAS, STATA, and R as appropriate for the research question and project.Collaborate with biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and other methodologists as needed.Work across disciplines to lead and perform quantitative components of mixed methods and evaluation projects.Work with multiple Primary Investigators (PIs) and advance projects simultaneously.Minimum Education and Experience:Master’s Degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, social science methods, clinical investigation, or other related field.3 years of relevant experience.Experience in an academic medical center environment.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Computer literacy including experience using statistical analysis software.Outstanding human relations and leadership skills.Ability to meet deadlines and handle several projects at once in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills and willingness to work closely with both clinical and research faculty.Preferred Qualifications:Prior work experience as a data analyst or statistical programmer, preferably in public health, biostatistics, or epidemiology.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking, or hearing.Work Environment: Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers).Pre-employment Screenings:All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.Special Instructions to Applicants:Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).
