The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000.
Position Summary:
The Third Party Recovery Manager assists the Director of Revenue Cycle Management in managing and coordinating business office operations as it relates to third party recovery. A firm understanding of healthcare reimbursement rules and regulations for multiple lines of business and payer sources that dictate operational requirements and practices are required. Team building, process improvement, and quality assurance are required.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
Associate’s Degree. Degree requirement may be waived on a year for year basis for a combination of education and experience.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years Health Care Revenue Cycle experience, preferably in a hospital or corporate Business Office. Three (3) years patient accounting experience to include follow-up of health care insurance claims and self-pay statements. Three (3) years in customer service. Two (2) years supervisory experience.
License, Certifications, Registration:
AAHAM CRCP required or must be able to obtain within one (1) year of employment. HFMA CRCR Preferred. RN, CPC, or Medical Terminology Preferred.
Equipment/Tools:
Office machinery, e.g. printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with Cerner Millennium RevenueCycle, ERM, BCE, ProFile preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Typing speed of 50 wpm, 10-key calculator by touch. Proven ability to work independently solving problems and completing projects with minimal supervision. Interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with medical personnel on a routine basis. Ability to work flexible hours.
