81547The Chief Information Security Officer is a senior level IT leadership position, responsible for the information security and compliance program, managing the day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end-user satisfaction. Provides leadership of IT Strategy, governance, and technical leadership for cross-functional management of information and technology across the enterprise. This position reports directly to the CIO and serves as the second in command of the IT organization.Requirements and Preferences
A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, IT Business Management, Information Security Management, or a related field. An M.S. in Engineering Technology with expertise in IT security, telecommunication, and high-speed networks is also acceptable. A combination of education and experience will be considered. A Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISO are preferred. Strong knowledge of IT security best practices, standards, and frameworks. Experience in managing large teams and complex projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred experience includes eight (8)+ years working in a higher education environment concentrating on advanced IT systems and supporting security infrastructure, extensive experience in strategic security and communication infrastructure planning, and knowledge of ISO, NIST, and IT Risk assessment methodology.Required License or Certification:
