We are committed to engaging our community through exhibitions, events, and educational programs.Position Overview:UIMA is seeking a creative and motivated Marketing Coordinator to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about art and culture and is eager to develop and execute marketing strategies that will engage our audience and expand our reach. The Marketing Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Executive Manager and President to brainstorm and implement innovative marketing strategies and projects, with the goal of keeping our current audience engaged while reaching out to new demographics through a variety of approaches. The position will require approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, depending on workload.Key Responsibilities:Social Media Content:
Manage and maintain UIMA’s social media presence on Facebook and Instagram.Write compelling and engaging copy for posts, creating content that resonates with our audience.Create and manage Facebook events, ensuring timely and accurate information.Attend events, exhibition installs/deinstalls, and opening receptions to capture content (some weekend availability required).Edit and schedule content for our social channels, ensuring a consistent and engaging presence.Develop and execute paid social media campaigns.Create reports and provide performance insights.
Email Marketing:
Develop and implement an email marketing plan aimed at increasing subscriber count and improving open and click-through rates.Design and send out regular email blasts to promote upcoming events, exhibitions, and opportunities.Create and distribute surveys to gather insights on audience preferences and needs.Lead the digital marketing efforts for UIMA’s in-person and virtual fundraising events.
Website Management:
Act as the point person for maintaining and updating UIMA’s website.Regularly update the website with new events, important dates, and other relevant information.Web design experience is a plus, especially for revamping and enhancing the look and navigation of the website.
Qualifications:Proven experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.Strong writing and editing skills.Experience with email marketing platforms and website editing and management.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Flexibility to attend events on weekends and evenings as needed.Passion for art and culture, particularly within the context of modern and contemporary art.To Apply:Please send your resume, a cover letter, and examples of your previous marketing work to emilia@uima-chicago.org and motria@uima-chicago.org.
