Job SummaryThe Rooms Controller will work in partnership with Revenue Management Front Desk and other operational departments with a focus on managing the hotel’s room inventory to maximize both revenue and quality service levels for guests.
ResponsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a high school diploma and 2 to 4 years of experience.
Performs work under general supervision.
Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
May provide leadership coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking guestrooms and balancing room types to enhance revenue opportunities.
Manage Out of Order and Out of Service room’s inventory, following up with departments such as Housekeeping, Engineering, and Front Desk and updating Revenue Management team.
Actively participate in Group Strategy meetings to ensure group inventory is managed accordingly, down to the room type level.
Prepare weekly group cut-off report.
Work closely with Event Manager on all group requests, including but not limited to notating block details, posting group payment, uploading rooming lists, setting up billing, creating booking links, and updating reservations.
Ensure inventory across Property Management System (Opera Cloud) is in balance and take corrective action in the event of variances.
Accurately audit and submit commission payments monthly.
Assist with reservation tasks as needed.
Assist with credit card forms and billing setup.
Any task as assigned by Revenue/Reservation Management or Hotel Leadership team.
Property DetailsThe Dagny Boston is a new independent hotel in downtown Boston at 89 Broad Street. Designed as Boston’s first Art Deco “skyscraper,” The Dagny Boston occupies the former Batterymarch Building, fresh from a $39 million renovation across 403 guest rooms and 7,000 square ft of flexible meeting and event space. The hotel features two onsite restaurants, Fin Point Oyster Bar & Grill and Tradesman Coffee Shop & Lounge, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center featuring Technogym and Peloton equipment.
