Trade is part of the Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business of Citi. Trade involves a broad range of funded and unfunded Trade products and solutions including the following businesses; (i) Documentary Services Products (including insurance letters of credit, export and import LCs/guarantees) (ii) Trade and Working Capital Loans (iii) Receivables Finance (iv) Payable Finance and EAF. The Product Management and Product Development functions across the above products work closely with the Trade Architecture and Controls Functions to create and deliver the full suite of solutions to our clients.

The Trade Sales head will lead a team of Trade Sales Specialists across Corporate, PS and FI clients and engage with our clients on the trade solution set. The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a client centric strategy across multiple product lines. The candidate will need to optimize alignment between the TTS and other Citi businesses, leverage the network and have growth goals to increase wallet share from the client franchise. They would need to closely follow market trends and adapt them for application with the business, making Citibank the preferred Trade option for clients.

The role reports directly into the Corporate, Commercial & Public Sector Sales Head with matrix reporting to the Global Head of Trade.

Job DescriptionThe Product Sales Group Head manages multiple teams of senior professionals through other senior managers. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different systems, theories and practices relevant to a function as well as practical experience of multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences. The job is likely to be involved in both internal and external negotiations which will have a major impact on the area managed, and possibly on other related areas and organization as a whole. Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting job family or function within a region or business. Full management responsibility of multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning. Has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on company revenues, capital or business operations. Typically, a direct report to an EB role and sits on the highest functional leadership team within a region, or global business.

Responsibilities:Leadership role for a team of product sales professionalsDetermine and deliver the sales plan/pipeline goals of the business in conjunction with Product HeadsDevelop and execute on a pipeline of client prospects, sufficient to provide required business growthManage a team of sales managers who achieve aggressive revenue goals, measured and rewarded against set targetsManage key business drivers like calling plans, deal closure and execution, customer satisfaction, etc.Establish relationships with key clients and business partners to identify new business opportunitiesMonitor and understand customer needs, market and economic trends as well as business opportunities and threatsCoordinate internally to drive timely and flawless execution of client mandatesAdopt and leverage new marketing strategies such as partnerships, conferences, advisory boardsEmbed quality in client touch-points including proposals and presentationsDevelop sales talent through active coaching, leading training opportunities and attracting top sales talentWork in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructureBuild a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethicsAppropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputationBe familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the sameAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:15+ years of experience, including 10+ years' managerial experienceProven track record in cross cultural and matrix business settings.Formulation and implementation of business strategy across all corporate customer segments.

Education:Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred; managerial experience
