The candidate will work closely with the company’s patent counsel, patent paralegal, and R&D teams. Responsibilities include independent preparation and prosecution of patent applications and patentability, clearance, and landscape searching using patent databases such as PatSnap or Google Patents.The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in a science discipline, preferably chemical engineering, and registration as a Patent Agent with the USPTO. Candidate’s experience should include 5+ years in a law firm or company handling mechanical and chemical patent preparation and prosecution. Strong technological background and familiarity with building materials or consumer products is also preferred.Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Works closely with the company's patent counsel, patent paralegal, R&D team, and USPTO patent examiners in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.Drafts patent applications with clarity and technical accuracy.Prepares correspondence with the USPTO, including initial application filings, responses to Office Actions, and Information Disclosure Statements.Conducts patentability, clearance, and landscape searches using PatSnap or equivalent patent databases.Under This Roof, We Require
Bachelor of Science in engineering (preferably chemical engineering).5+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.Must have valid USPTO Registration Number.Must possess detailed knowledge of USPTO procedures.Familiarity with patent databases such as PatSnap and Google Patents.Demonstrated ability to work and cooperate effectively with others.Creative and technically accurate writing skills.Proven ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic environment.Desire to assist in patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, as needed.Under This Roof, We Also Value
