To help retain our deep culture of collaboration both among ourselves and our stakeholders, this role will maintain an in-office presence 2-3 days/week in a hybrid capacity from either our Durham, NC, Columbus, OH, Charlottesville, VA, or Boston, MA office.The Opportunity

Product Designer

at WillowTree, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to co-lead ideation sessions, create visually compelling designs, and ensure alignment with brand and strategic goals. You'll also champion inclusive, accessible design and communicate with global team members and clients.Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including Software Engineers, Researchers, Strategists, Creatives, and Project Managers, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared ownership.Support senior designers and engage with international team members, facilitating seamless communication and alignment of design objectives with high-level stakeholders.Execute various design tasks including sketching, wireframing, building IA, motion design, and conducting usability tests, under the guidance and mentorship of senior designers.Produce high-quality visual designs that embody the client’s brand identity while ensuring alignment with product strategy goals and budget constraints.Collaborate with content strategists to ensure cohesive alignment between content strategy and design, enhancing user engagement and experience.Assist in developing lightweight and purposeful design systems, contributing to creating consistent and scalable design solutions.Create prototypes in Figma to explore and iterate on design ideas, actively seeking feedback and incorporating insights from senior designers.Apply visual design principles and user experience best practices to craft intuitive and engaging designs that prioritize user needs and preferences.Utilize research, analytics, and SEO insights to inform design decisions and iterate designs based on data-driven insights, with guidance from senior designers.Adhere to platform and accessibility best practices in all design work, promoting inclusivity and ensuring that designs are accessible to all users.Qualifications

You’ve been designing digital products for 3+ yearsExperience with design tools like Figma, Photoshop, and other Adobe applicationsA portfolio that exemplifies strong visual design and a focus on defining the user experienceYou’ve proudly shipped and launched productsProven understanding of user experience best practices and platform standardsA strong understanding of typography, layout, color, and advanced design principlesFamiliarity with accessibility best practices to ensure designs cater to all user needsYou’re knowledgeable of what’s possible on modern digital platforms in addition to an understanding of platform design standards (e.g. HIG, Material Design)Capacity to work under ambiguity and move forward with imperfect dataYou’re a conceptual thinker who can translate customer needs, behaviors, and project requirementsExperience effectively presenting and communicating your design decisions to stakeholders or clients, and team membersCommitment to personal growth, willingness to seek out the necessary information, and openness to mentorshipWhy WillowTree?
