We help clients achieve impact across some of the most high-profile issues of our time, whether it's partnering with major philanthropies, national and local advocacy organizations, corporations and nonprofits. From local to global campaigns, we help our clients advocate successfully across a broad range of social impact causes. We approach every engagement with the goal of "winning the day" for our clients, bringing cross-platform solutions to advance our clients' goals. Whether it's executing powerful media relations strategies, launching digital thought leadership programs or developing creative campaigns to advance a specific policy issue—our team serves as trusted advisors to solve our nation's most pressing challenges.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
BerlinRosen is seeking a Vice President to join our Impact Team to lead strategy and manage account teams advancing fights in areas including, but not limited to, workers' rights, racial justice, economic justice, gender justice and environmental justice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to advance change through communications campaigns and mission-driven work.
Role location:
This role is based in our New York, N.Y. or Washington, D.C. office on a hybrid basis. The Impact team is in-office at least 3 days per week.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
As a Vice President on our Impact team, you will…
Lead strategic conversations and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile client accounts to deliver results for our clients
Develop and oversee integrated campaigns that leverage public affairs, earned media, paid media and digital tactics to reach key audiences and achieve client goals
Directly manage and mentor staff and provide overall strategic direction and feedback for their development and client work
Collaborate closely with the Impact management team to develop and inspire our team of strategists to be innovative and creative
Help our practice win new business and proactively expand our relationships
Essential skills:
Has 6+ years of relevant experience working in political campaigns; government offices such as Capitol Hill, Executive Branch agencies, major City/State government; strategic communications; media relations; advocacy; journalism; or a related field
Is an avid consumer of news, with a strong news sense and knowledge of the media
Experience engaging and maintaining strong relationships with key reporters covering the top issues of the day, including topics such as labor and economic justice, racial and gender equity, immigrant rights, healthcare, climate justice and more
Experience engaging with media for both rapid response and long-lead stories
Strong written and oral communications skills
Experience managing, prepping and staffing high-touch principals, such as political candidates, elected officials or organizational leaders
Ability to multi-task easily, including handling multiple assignments at once, working quickly and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment while paying close attention to details
Has a personal commitment to and knowledge of social justice
Understands organizing and advocacy communications, including social media campaigning; paid media campaigns; writing for the web (website copy, social media posts, articles etc.); engaging with local, state, or national politics
Enjoys managing people and has experience in successfully motivating, leading and mentoring a diverse team to meet objectives

WORKING AT BERLINROSEN
Compensation philosophy:
BerlinRosen offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. We regularly review and adjust our compensation structure as needed to ensure equity across teams and levels.
Salary range
(commensurate with experience and skills): $130,000-$150,000
Vice Presidents are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
