University of Miami Pre-College, Division of Continuing and International Education What is pre-college? University of Miami Pre-College offers both credit and non-credit summer programs for high school students seeking to gain college experience before graduating from high school. Upon completion, participants feel better prepared for the undergraduate admission process and gain confidence in their academic choices and ability to succeed in college. Pre-College programs include the Summer Scholars three-week credit program and UM Academies two-week, non-credit program for high school students (rising sophomores, juniors, and rising seniors). Combined, the programs host approximately 700 students, of which approximately 600+ are residential. With health, safety, and wellbeing as our priority, we strive to provide an inclusive authentic campus experience for our pre-college students – filled with stimulating academics, engaging programming, and unique weekend excursions. Temporary Enrollment Advisor, University of Miami Pre-College (2 positions)
Position: SSP Temp Enrollment Advisors (November 1, 2024 – July 18, 2025) The goal is to ensure that the projected enrollment number is achieved. As a result, there will be extensive marketing campaigns. It is essential for there to be enrollment advisors to nurture the influx of leads. The enrollment advisor advises, guides, educates, consults, and supports qualified potential students in achieving their professional and personal goals by enrolling in one of the University’s Pre-College programs. Student leads are provided to the enrollment advisor who is then expected to engage in consultative, relationship-building activities to nurture qualified leads into applicants. The enrollment advisor will be responsible for quality outbound calls, quality inbound calls, lead contact activity, completed applications of qualified students, professional and positive attitude, exceptional level of customer service provided from lead stage through enrollment, fostering of customer relationships, goal achievement, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills. As the main University representative to students, the enrollment advisor will be responsible for an exceptional and complete customer enrollment experience and the attainment of the enrollment goal which directly impacts the Division’s bottom-line. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Highly skilled in interpersonal communication and customer service best practices High quality decision making and judgment High degree of emotional intelligence Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing Knowledge of student recruitment, advising, and retention strategies Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion Ability to analyze course curriculum and application requirements Strong organizational skills – ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of products, ability to learn and master higher education systems Some night and weekend work required Reports to the Director and Program Manager and collaborates with Pre-college office staff Perform other job-related duties as assigned Job Status:
