We’re looking for a motivated and technical engineer to help us extend and improve our spatial statistics, space-time pattern analysis, and spatial machine-learning capabilities. Develop Python and C++ geoprocessing tools in the field of spatial statistics and spatial MLFind, analyze, and fix software bugs to improve the performance of toolsProvide technical and research expertise to collaboratively design, test, and document the tools we developBuild and ship quality software by working effectively in an agile, highly interactive environmentApply and adapt traditional statistical techniques to spatially explicit dataChampion algorithms and methodologies while remaining adaptable to alternative ideas and time constraintsRequirements

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in both Python and C++ programmingKnowledge of various scientific Python modules such as SciPy and NumPyStrong background in statistics, spatial statistics, machine learning, and/or time-series analysisRecommended Qualifications

Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Geography, or a related fieldKnowledge of Agile development methodologiesStrong problem-solving and debugging skillsExperience with R package development and familiarity with R’s C APIExperience with data visualization, mapping, and GISFamiliarity with ArcGIS suite of productsTotal Rewards

Base salary is one component of our total rewards strategy. Compensation decisions and the base range for this role take into account many factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $97,344 - $162,240 USD.About Esri
