We aim to develop and deploy critically needed capabilities that address our customers’ most pressing national security requirements.WHAT YOU’LL DO:As a Communications engineer, you will be responsible to apply your expertise developing and evaluating novel communication technologies. You will develop and implement special communication systems to enable new capabilities for a wide diversity of applications. You will work in a fast paced environment, collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to a variety of projects in this area. You will assist or lead in the design, development, modeling & simulation, implementation, and evaluation of communication systems and waveform design. They should have experience in either PHY layer topics, waveform design, or channel modeling for demanding applications and various environments.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Proven experience with communication systemsStrong background in communications and RF theoryLab testing experience and ability to work on fast paced projects, doing quick-turn experiments and rapid prototypingMust have an active United States Top Secret security clearance with Full Scope PolygraphMust be able to work in person at customer facilities in Northern Virginia five days per weekPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Developing and implementing signal processing algorithms for comms systemsModeling and simulating components of a communication systemDesigning waveforms to meet specific requirements for a given applicationPerforming laboratory experiments and evaluating fieldable prototypes of comms systemsProven record designing waveforms for various applications and environmentsKnowledge of signal processing concepts for communications, detection & estimation theoryFamiliarity with modeling and simulation tools like MATLAB and experience with PythonExperience implementing fieldable prototypes and doing their testing and validationBackground in wireless technologies, like 5G, LTE-M, or mmWaveKnowledge of low probability of intercept/detection (LPI/LPD) techniquesUS Salary Range: $136,000 - $275,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
