HRSG Senior Engineer.SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to act as the Mitsubishi Power subject matter expert to support proposal and contract execution teams for purchased Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) for use in combined cycle power plants. The position includes significant interaction with Mitsubishi Power applications engineering, global sourcing, customer teams, site personnel and project management teams.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review Mitsubishi Power client technical specifications against Mitsubishi Power product offerings and offer comment to Mitsubishi Power clients.Prepare technical specifications for HRSG purchase including the following types of documents:Process & Instrumentation DiagramsDetailed Technical SpecificationHRSG performance requirementsHRSG performance guarantee requirementsScope of Supply/Division of Responsibility DocumentsEmission RequirementsHRSG Bill of QuantitiesReview Project requirements for emission guarantees and come up with emission guarantees to be offered to Mitsubishi Power clients.Interact with HRSG suppliers and Catalyst suppliers to come up with emission guarantees that should be offered in Mitsubishi Power proposals to customers.Interact and co-ordinate with offsite/overseas teams for HRSG related scope of work.Participate in HRSG contract negotiations with supplier/s and act as the Mitsubishi Power subject matter HRSG technical expert to discuss and negotiate technical aspects of the project.Review the Thermal Performance requirements for the project and advise HRSG Thermal Performance requirements to the proposal and project teams.Review HRSG proposals against Mitsubishi Power and customer requirements and conform proposals against those requirements.Meet with customer to resolve outstanding technical concerns prior to contract award and during contract execution stage.Review all HRSG supplied drawings and design data for compliance to Mitsubishi Power and Customer requirements.Lead HRSG design reviews with HRSG suppliers, Mitsubishi Power client and EPC contractor to assure mutual project success during contract execution.Support project management and global sourcing teams to assist in the resolution of any commercial item with the client or the HRSG supplier.15 – 20% Travel
to combined cycle plant site to assist in the resolution of technical issues related to the HRSG design, installation or performance.Support Mitsubishi Power initiatives for combined cycle plant and product improvements.Act as a mentor for Engineers in the team and provide guidance on HRSG engineering activities.Leads the team process improvement initiatives and standardizations within the team.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESComply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.Occasional overnight travel by land and/or air.Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Contribute to building a positive team spirit.Communicate effectively with all levels of employees.Protect company confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties.Maintain the highest degree of honesty and integrity at all times.Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONEducation and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering from four-year college or university; and at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training.
Experience with the design and working knowledge of HRSG components or systems is required as well as a working knowledge of combined cycle power plants.
A working knowledge of Section 1 and B31.1 of the ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code is preferable.Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Computer Skills:
