Open until filledSummary:We are seeking an experienced human resource professional with demonstrated success applying comprehensive expertise in human resources functions to support our diverse organization’s needs. The Human Resources Director oversees employee relations, labor relations, recruitment/selection/staffing and workforce planning, classification/compensation program, employee benefits, training, organizational development, human resources policies and procedures, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for the County.Key Responsibilities:Directs the staff and operations of the Human Resources (HR) Department through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation.Provides professional advice and counsel to County staff and management on HR issues.Directs recruitment and selection, employee benefits, EEO compliance, compensation and classification, and personnel policies.Leads resolution of labor relations, collective bargaining, and employee relations issues.Prepares and manages HR fiscal budgets and identifies resource needs.Administers the County’s benefits programs and ensures compliance with employment laws.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business or Public Administration; and six (6) years of increasingly responsible experience in human resources management, including four years of supervisory experience; or alternatively possess ten (10) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements of the position.Preferred Qualifications:Possession of current human resources certification is preferred (e.g., IPMA-PC/SPC; PHR; SHRM-CP/SCP).Necessary Special Requirements:Driving is a requirement for this position. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license within 30 days of hire date.
