As a trusted partner to our military customers, we design, develop and operate systems that bring together service members from across the globe to help you train like you fight.HII's System Integration group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Integrated Training Systems Software Development team in the Virginia Beach, VA area. As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and deployment of the Advanced Training Domain (ATD), a shipboard combat system trainer.Responsibilities
Work with a small software development team and our customer for Sprint Planning, execution, and reviews.Formulate software solutions via the use of software requirements, consultations with users, and investigation into systems flow, data utilization, and workflow.Explore problematic areas and investigate issues, including Software Trouble Report analysis and resolutions.Create and showcase solutions by generating documentation (e.g., software development notebooks, sequence diagrams, dependencies, etc.), code comments, and clear coding practices.Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches.Conduct developer testing in both lab environments and aboard ship (when required) to verify software alignment with requirements.Limited travel in support of software installation and testing.Minimum Qualifications
2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s in a related field; 0 years’ experience with a Master’s in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.Experience implementing Agile/Scrum software development cycles.Experience with C++ software development on Linux platforms.Security+ certification (or must obtain within 3 months of hire).Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain a clearance).Preferred Requirements
