As a member of our team, you will be shaping the future of cybersecurity, working fast, valuing ongoing learning, and respecting each employee as a unique individual.Job DescriptionThe engineering team supporting PANW’s internal Threat Data Platform is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer & Manager to lead a team of engineers responsible for automating the analysis of threat intelligence and building tools that enable researchers to create well-modeled threat intelligence.Reporting to the Director of Threat Data Platform, you will leverage your expertise in software development methodologies and best practices to guide the team in delivering high-quality and highly scalable software. You’ll apply those same skills toward identifying technical solutions to roadmap projects, improving team efficiency, and managing the development process.Your ImpactParticipate in strategy planning to build excellent toolsManage day-to-day operations to ensure software is developed on scheduleManage multiple projects simultaneouslyActively participate in code and architecture reviewsMentor and manage the professional development of team membersAct as a subject matter expert for our data and platformsQualificationsYour ExperiencePassion for leadership and innovationExperience leading a team from either a technical or managerial perspectiveProficient in one or more cloud provider’s technology suites (GCP preferred)Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience working on remote teamsStrong understanding and usage of Python, JS, SQL, NoSQL, Java, ElasticSearch, and cloud technologies for data manipulation at scaleExperience developing container-based applications using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or HelmBackground or interest in reverse engineering, threat intelligence generation, and/or applied securityStrong understanding of computer science fundamentals, specifically networking, databases, and tool developmentOpen to travel requirements (up to 10% annually)Additional InformationThe TeamOur engineering team is at the core of our products and connected directly to the mission of preventing cyberattacks. Our engineers build products to solve problems no one has pursued before.Compensation DisclosureThe compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location.
