Position Summary
General Atlantic is looking to hire a Senior Associate to support the Transaction Accounting team. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Fund Finance. In this role, you will be a key player in creating value by strengthening and developing the internal accounting functionalities at General Atlantic. This multi-faceted role will allow you to develop and extend your financial and interpersonal skills as you collaborate with management finance teams to advance General Atlantic’s accounting and financial reporting objectives.
Responsibilities
General ledger analysis to facilitate month/quarter-end close
Daily journal entries to record cash transactions related to capital calls and portfolio liquidations
Tracking sales of investments and allocating proceeds and gains based on each partner's ownership percentage
Reviewing and analyzing partners’ capital accounts
Assisting the Controller with annual audit procedures
Assisting management with the preparation of financial statements
Bridge loan facility allocation and payment
Establishing and maintaining internal controls
Responding to general partner/investor inquiries
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong academic background with a concentration in accounting
5+ years of experience in private accounting required
Partnership accounting experience required
Investment industry experience is a plus
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Macro skills and knowledge of Alteryx, Anaplan, and Power BI are a plus
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks
Strong analytical capability while maintaining attention to detail
Team player; able to collaborate with peers
Creativity, thoughtful business judgment, and professional maturity
Record of outstanding professional and academic achievement
High energy level, strong communication skills, and intellectual curiosity
Desire to collaborate with colleagues throughout the firm globally
