Summary of the roleVP, Ceded Reinsurance (New Business), Corebridge Financial
New York, Los Angeles, or Houston preferred; other key locations considered
Reporting to the Managing Director, Ceded Reinsurance, the focus of the position includes identifying, structuring, and executing on opportunities for reinsurance within Corebridge, managing the In-force reinsured portfolio and managing relationships with all reinsurers.
About the roleThe Ceded Re group is also responsible for representing Corebridge's interests with major stakeholders both internally and externally with industry groups, reinsurers, government and regulatory bodies, and various L&R stakeholders.
Identifying reinsurance opportunities and executing reinsurance transactions
Overseeing the execution and structuring of any ceded reinsurance strategies on behalf of Corebridge
Working closely with the quantitative strategy group to develop framework for evaluation of opportunities
Effectively interacting with functional areas (e.g. Legal, HR, IT, etc.) to ensure any transactions are aligned with the strategic, operating, and financial plans of the businesses
Maintaining an active dialogue and partnership with all Corebridge lines of business
Understanding the organization’s desire to pursue reinsurance opportunities
Presenting to leadership any opportunities to optimize the profitability of existing and future business via reinsurance
Overseeing reinsurance programs for current and prospective blocks of Corebridge's business
Establishing and maintaining relationships with current and prospective reinsurers
Responding to businesses requests for information (reinsurers financial reports, industry issues, etc.) coordinating market Information with other departments, as necessary
Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meeting principles of sound corporate governance and environmental, health, safety and quality standards
What we are looking for
7+ years related experience with the ability to deal with complex accounts
Deep subject matter expertise in Life Insurance Products required
Retirement Product expertise preferred
Significant reinsurance structuring and transactions expertise
Proven experience developing and executing multi-year roadmaps
Maintain market relationships in order to identify and facilitate placement and resolve issues
Strong knowledge of the relevant reinsurer marketplace, including alternate solutions
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree and/or other insurance designations such as ASA/FSA, CERA, CPCU, or ARM preferred.
