We look for people who have bold new ideas, courage and a pioneering spirit to join forces to invent the future, and have fun along the way.Northrop Grumman seeks a lead in-house lawyer in the Space Sector to act as the Director and Division Counsel for the Tactical Space Systems Division, headquartered in Sterling, Virginia, near the Dulles airport.Responsibilities:Counseling on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, and execution of U.S. Government and commercial contracts.Coordinating with various legal specialists to support litigation and internal investigations, intellectual property, export, employment, and other matters impacting the business.Leading teams and communicating effectively with executive leadership.Supervising one or more supporting counsel, paralegals, and/or administrative assistants.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSAbility to become a member of the Virginia Bar or licensed Virginia corporate counsel.Ability to obtain and hold at least a U.S. DoD security clearance.10+ years of government contracts experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agencies and/or in-house legal departments.Strong academic credentials.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with contracting and subcontracting in support of U.S. Government programs and/or with complex commercial transactions.Expertise with FAR, DFARS, and other federal agencies rules and practices.Ability to analyze legal concepts and communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.Ability to lead and/or contribute to a collaborative team environment.Strong business acumen and proven success leading teams in a large matrixed organization.An active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher is preferred.Salary Range:
$251,500 - $361,600The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
