SUMMARY
This individual works independently and with other members of the software development team, with primary responsibility to design, develop and enhance components of the wheels.com Internet and Extranet sites, extensively focused on delivering customer-facing capabilities. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of the software development life cycle with emphasis on front-end tech stack consisting of CSS and HTML. Experience in agile development methodology is a plus.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThis role is a demanding, highly dynamic, and technically challenging position. A candidate must be experienced in all stages of the software development life cycle: requirements gathering, design, development, construction, and implementation. The candidate must also have excellent people skills and be resourceful in order to manage the software development process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Enhancement and maintenance of existing and new web applicationsTechnical design, coding, and unit testing of web applications in accordance with business requirements and technical standardsDesign and development of reusable components for web applicationsParticipation in functional specifications, prototyping, and estimation for web development projectsParticipation in the development of detailed design specifications for use by the technical teamParticipation in evaluation and prototyping of new technologies, coding practices, or third-party technology for use in web applicationsWork with business teams to clarify requirements and business needsQualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or applicable fieldCSS/HTMLStrong understanding of responsive web designAbility to create user-centered interfaces in order to implement company design patternsAbility to work closely with User Experience, Business Analysts, and Creative Design team members to enhance the overall look and feel and usability of web interfacesStrong understanding of Bootstrap (3.x) standard components and their customizationAbility to teach front-end development concepts to other developersExperience developing in AngularJS or other SPA frameworksSource control: git and/or SVNExperience working as part of a development team (as well as independently)Willingness to learn new front-end conceptsAbility to translate wireframes and high-level designs into visual componentsExperience with GULP or GRUNT a plusExperience with Agile Methodology (Scrum) a plusExcellent teamwork skills with an ability to get the work done with minimal supervisionUnderstanding of large scale, multi-tier web application architectureAdditional Information
