This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the General Counsel on a broad range of activities, from legal research and policy development to compliance activities, all aimed at advancing our agency’s mission. The candidate will gain proficiency in statutes, regulations, and policies related to procurement and contracting and apply this knowledge to assist in the delivery and implementation of programs and initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Act as front-line liaison for the Legal Department, including managing and maintaining schedules for both internal and external customers, including agenda development and scheduling room and call-in numbers.Actively perform administrative tasks as directed, problem solving and developing new methods to assist in administration of programs and prepares reports on various activities.Monitors progress of activities and inquiries to ensure that tasks are completed on time.Participates in the development and drafting of standard operating procedures, policies, reports, and written communications.Schedules meetings and maintains Legal records, files and data tracking systems.Meet with internal/external customers as a representative of the Legal department.Actively attend professional/technical educational forums to stay current on program coordination and Legal and government administration best practices.Work with Records Access Officer (RAO) to respond to all public records requests within statutorily mandated time periods, tracking all requests and responses, and providing annual summary as required.Provide assistance to the Compliance, Special Education Pricing, and Bureau of Purchased Services teams, as needed.Requirements:Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as databases, applications, and other organizational and presentation software.Ability to understand, explain and apply the laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures, governing assigned unit activities.Ability to analyze and determine the applicability of data, to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.Strong communication, word processing, and organizational skills.Public procurement experience or experience in a compliance, regulatory, government, or legal environment is preferred.The Operational Services Division values staff diversity and contributions to an inclusive working and learning environment.DEI Value StatementDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion are integral to the Operational Services Division’s (OSD's) mandate to oversee transparent and equitable practices through a variety of public services and programs within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.*II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.*III.
