Atlanta, Georgia.The Role:
The Senior Counsel, Intellectual Property acts as the key point of contact and provides day-to-day advice to legal colleagues, internal clients and senior management on a range of intellectual property (IP) issues.Responsibilities:IP Litigation Support:
Manage IP litigation and pre-litigation activities including analysis and response to third-party licensing inquiries or cease-and-desist letters.Strategy, Collaboration, and Portfolio Management:
Provide commercially focused advice on IP strategies, policies, and practices; develop an understanding of the businesses and existing IP portfolios; stay current with legal developments; deliver internal legal training.Commercial Transactions and Technology Licensing:
Provide IP advisory support including licensing questions, draft and negotiate IP-related commercial agreements, and provide guidance on patent license and technology agreements.Technology, Software and Source Code Support:
Advise on open-source licenses, compliance, and artificial intelligence technologies.Qualifications:Juris doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in at least one state.8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney.Broad and well-rounded intellectual property law experience.Excellent negotiation, drafting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Structured, reliable, and well-organized with a strong eye for detail.Ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues strategically.Strong commercial acumen.Proactive with a strong sense of personal responsibility.Resilient with the ability to prioritize amid rapidly shifting priorities.Preferred Qualifications:Technical expertise.Patent bar.Benefits:
