Legal Counsel (6 month contract)

Bumble is looking for an efficient legal counsel to join our global in-house legal team for a contract of 6 months. In this role, you will work across the team to support marketing, product and general commercial needs across the globe and will handle contract drafting, review and negotiation on a wide variety of agreements.
The role will be based in New York or Austin, Texas and will report directly into the Chief Legal Officer.What you'll be doing
Draft/review/revise a wide variety of commercial, product and marketing contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, digital advertising insertion orders, custom content agreements, sponsorship and event related agreements, influencer agreements, MSAs and more.Collaborate cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams, including product, marketing, brand, finance, editorial, content and P+C.Proactively identify legal risks while providing pragmatic advice which balances managing legal requirements with achieving business goals.Review and ensure compliance of sweepstakes, contests and cause marketing.Stay up-to-date and keep stakeholders advised on laws, regulations and trends relevant to technology, advertising and marketing, and consumer protection.Conduct legal research on a variety of issues as needed.About you
1-3 years’ experience, preferably with experience both at a law firm and as part of an in-house legal department.You are licensed to practice law in the US. Experience with commercial law, including marketing, digital advertising, and social media, with significant experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.You have experience managing sweepstakes, contests, promotions and cause marketing, with strong understanding of applicable rules and regulations. In-house experience in a tech, media or entertainment industry environment strongly preferred.You are a self-starter: thrives on taking ownership of initiatives with limited oversight.You have outstanding time-management and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under short deadlines.You have strong oral and written communication skills.You have a desire to maintain a strong general understanding of emerging trends and changes to commercial laws and regulations and their enforcement.You're able to think creatively and effectively balancing legal constraints with business goals.You have a collaborative approach, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others.You are willing to take on projects both large and small.
