Recognized nationally for its work, FCHS connects Rutgers University and the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station to communities beyond the campus to build healthy families, schools, and communities.Posting Summary:Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a SNAP-Ed Program Associate I, Senior Nutrition Educator for Camden County. The successful candidate(s) will provide SNAP-Ed outreach and education in Camden County, with occasional coverage in Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer Counties and oversight of social media throughout the 4-county region.The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education (SNAP-Ed) is a federally funded grant program that supports evidence-based nutrition education and obesity prevention interventions for persons eligible for SNAP.Key duties include:Helping program participants improve food security, dietary quality, physical activity, and food safety behaviors.Recruiting and working with agencies willing to host SNAP-Ed programs.Ensuring compliance with federal outreach and budget guidelines.Responsible for various reports designed to document project success.Mentoring PA IIs and identifying opportunities for their professional development.Serving on community boards and councils to maintain a strong program presence.Acting as a role model for volunteers while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.Two years of related experience in health education, public health, or a related discipline.Valid driver’s license.Preferred Qualifications:RDN or CHES preferred.Experience in community health promotion and behavior change programs.Experience working with limited resource, urban populations preferred.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Comfortable utilizing kitchen appliances for hands-on nutrition education.Physical Demands:Ability to carry program materials and supplies, including audio-visual equipment.Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.Special Conditions:Ability to work evenings and weekends as required; able to travel statewide.Posting Number: 24ST2447Posting Open Date: 10/24/2024
