Concept Schools About Us Concept Schools is a nonprofit charter management organization that provides a high-quality, STEM-focused, and college-preparatory education through a network of charter public schools while offering exceptional programs, comprehensive services, and opportunities to partner in education. Concept manages a network of 30+ schools across the Midwest and supports the teaching and learning of 14,000 K-12 students. Position Description The Marketing Director will lead Concept Schools’ integrated marketing efforts in support of the strategic goals. The Director will serve as the liaison for the marketing & communications team members across the Concept network and within the central office. The Director will work together with program directors and network leaders to set marketing goals and ensure alignment with the network’s overarching marketing plan, brand identity, and messaging while coordinating production, editing content, and drafting content as necessary. As a network brand manager, the Director will collaborate with the communications, graphic design teams, program directors, and school leaders to ensure marketing materials meet Concept’s branding guide. The Marketing Director will report to the Chief Strategic Growth & Communications Officer. Key Responsibilities Proactively identify, recommend, and develop new marketing & communication strategies to further support and enhance the programs and mission of Concept Schools. Develop and execute a comprehensive annual strategic marketing and communications plan with the goal to raise brand awareness and meet student enrollment targets. Collaborate with senior leadership, program directors, and network leaders to set strategies and goals for marketing projects. Regularly track and report performance data analytics on marketing efforts. Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, such as ROI, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs, and use data-driven insights to optimize marketing efforts and drive continuous improvement. Supervise and support a team including Copywriter/Editor and Digital Marketing Coordinator. Collaborate with the graphic design and communications team to regularly oversee the creation of written, digital, and visual content for various Concept Schools publications, including network newsletters, school enrollment marketing materials, annual reports, and various Concept Events. Lead cross-functional teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media, email, content marketing, and events. Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscapes, and customer insights to inform marketing strategies and tactics. Oversee the creation and production of marketing collateral, including print materials, digital assets, presentations, and videos, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and messaging. Manage the company's digital presence, including website content, SEO/SEM, social media platforms, and online advertising campaigns, to enhance visibility and engagement. Cultivate and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, vendors, and industry influencers to enhance marketing capabilities and expand brand reach. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and recommend innovative strategies to maintain a competitive edge. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field. Proven track record of success in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans that drive business growth and achieve measurable results. Three to five (3-5) years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with demonstrated expertise in brand management, digital marketing, and campaign management. Experience working within the educational sector strongly preferred. Experience working within the non-profit sector preferred. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress or similar website development platforms, Monday.com project management platform, MailChimp (or similar email distribution system), Eventbrite (or similar event scheduling system), Google Suite, etc. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in marketing analytics tools, CRM systems, and digital marketing platforms. Experienced social media user with a deep understanding of popular social media platforms, trends, and digital communications strategies; willing to experiment with and learn best practices for new platforms, required. In-depth knowledge of social media metrics reporting, and the ability to share insights on a continual basis with communications and development teams. Experience obtaining project estimates from, negotiating with, and managing external partners and vendors, preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong writing skills for online articles, social media posts, and mass email communications. Strong content production and editing skills for digital platforms including photography, video, and audio. Self-directed, organized, ability to prioritize, execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with great attention to detail. Flexibility and willingness to cover rare events on evenings, weekends, and other non-working hours. Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and problem-solving, able to adapt quickly to changing market dynamics and business needs. Willingness to collaborate as a member of a small marketing team to “triage” time-sensitive requests and deliver high-quality work to colleagues and constituents. Active team player, ability to interact appropriately and collaborate with individuals across various departments and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization, and respectfully engage with people of diverse races, cultures, and religions. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Creative-minded team player who is a fast learner, quick worker, open to feedback, and has a sense of humor. Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve common goals.
