This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight.As part of a hardworking team of diverse analysts, you will conduct thermal and fluids analysis to define the performance and operations for various spaceflight systems, define hardware requirements, and resolve technical challenges. We are looking for thermal/fluids engineers of all skill levels as we expand our portfolio of space vehicles. You will take ownership of fluid system analysis by conducting 1D-3D thermal/fluid analysis and contribute to our product life cycle process from early conceptual design through completion of the flight mission. The analysis team contributes to deriving component requirements, system sizing, and analyzing flight or ground processes. You will be responsible for documentation and maintenance of analysis inputs, models, and presenting results to stakeholders.Qualifications

Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, advanced degrees preferredStrong understanding of cryogenic fluids with relevant experience, preferably in the space industryExperience in leading major technical trades like space vehicle architecture design, P&ID creation, and major vehicle trade studiesExpert in thermal modeling tools SINDA/FLUINT or Thermal Desktop is requiredCapable of mentoring and guiding other engineers in proactive and constructive ways. Builds trust and maintains positive and professional relationships, contributing to a culture of inclusion and collaborationOwns delivery of large-scale analysis solutions and partners with engineers across the organization for shared objectivesServes as the technical mentor to other members, with strong hands-on experience to resolve analysis modeling challengesTrains and coaches less experienced members on the teamGuides the successful completion of major programs and leads the adoption of new technologiesMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumDesired Qualifications

Previous technical lead experience is a plusExperience in Propulsion Budget development of space vehicle going through mission timeline is a plusExperience with modeling propulsion/cryogenic fluids management (storage, transfer, phase change)Expert in Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINTExperience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)Knowledge of other tools including MATLAB, Simulink, AmesimSuccessful candidates typically have 0 to 40+ years of relevant proven experience in design and analysis of aerospace thermal systemsAdvanced graduate degrees (Masters or PhD)Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++, FORTRAN)Active/passive Thermal/Pressure Control System/component designCompensation Range for:CA applicants is $162,465.75-$227,452.05; CO applicants is $153,839.25-$215,374.95; WA applicants is $162,465.75-$227,452.05Other site ranges may differApplications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity Statement
