Vehicle Software Engineering Intern
to support developing and testing complex systems in a fast-paced startup environment.Roles & Responsibilities:
In this role you will learn the ins and outs of Software in the Loop, Processor in the Loop, and Hardware in the Loop testing from design through implementation, all while in the midst of a fast-paced startup environment.You will both learn and practice concepts, processes and techniques for engineering software as part of a complex system of systems.You will have the opportunity to work hands on with flight hardware integrating your software solutions to verify performance in real world scenarios.The perfect candidate is a creative problem solver, highly collaborative, independently resourceful and likes to learn new things.They should be a strategic thinker, who can communicate complex software engineering concepts in succinct and clear language, in both verbal and written communication.They are also passionate about bringing sustainable transportation to more people, and about the transportation and aviation industries generally.They are highly motivated, and excited about joining a small, cross-functional team.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or related engineering disciplinePassion for aviation, aerospace, electrical and/or nautical vehicle design and developmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsC/C++ Embedded software development experienceAlgorithm development in MATLAB/SimulinkExperience and/or interest in some or all of the following: Software simulation environments and modeling (Simulink, Unreal Engine)UAS, UUV, or autonomous vehiclesGuidance, navigation, and controlVehicle state estimationVehicle integration and testObject detection and avoidanceSensors - Camera, Radar, Ultrasonic, Sonar, GPS, IMUDesired Skills & Qualifications:
Experience with graphical front ends and human-machine interfacesPrevious internship experience in a Software Engineering roleExperience with CUDA and multi-threading/processing of camera dataFlight test or sea trials experienceWorking at REGENT, you’ll be in a fast-paced environment with exciting new challenges daily.
