Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.Role Overview:We are looking for a systems engineer with expertise in lidar algorithms and systems analysis to drive the development and optimization of lidar systems in real-world scenarios. This is a cross-functional role with exposure to all the HW and SW teams in the company.What you'll do:Systems analysis: Analyze end-to-end system-level issues through collaboration with HW and SW teams to understand factors affecting the system performance in real-world scenarios.Algorithm development: Develop point cloud processing algorithms in FW to optimize performance, and develop product requirements to meet design specifications.Performance Validation: Develop and conduct comprehensive validation procedures to qualify the release of new product variants.What you'll have:Hands-on experience working with sensors to understand and solve complex system-level issues.Programming experience with C++ / Python / Matlab with a focus on algorithm design.Master's degree with 3+ years of industry experience or a PhD with experience in developing algorithms.Good fundamentals in physics, mathematics, and signal processing, and excellent problem-solving skills.Willingness to learn, ability to communicate well, and demonstrate healthy drive and energy to understand and solve complex system-level problems.Nice to haves:Experience developing product requirements based on systems engineering principles.Experience working on point cloud processing algorithms for detection, estimation, and filtering.Knowledge of working principles for radars/lidars.What's in it for you:Be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team.Very competitive compensation and meaningful stock grants.Exceptional benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and more.Unlimited PTO: We care about results, not punching timecards.$132,400 - $179,200 a year

Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges are subject to change in the future.
