General Summary:
As a
Principal Cloud Security Engineer
, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the security architecture of our cloud environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of security best practices and the development of secure APIs. Your expertise in integration and API scripting will be crucial in protecting our cloud assets and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Reports To:
Director, IT Security & Compliance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and implement cloud security architectures for various cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Develop and maintain secure APIs and integration scripts to enhance cloud security.
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines.
Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Implement and manage security monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.
Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technologies.
Required Skills:
Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect or similar role.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security features.
Proficiency in API scripting and integration (e.g., Python, JavaScript, RESTful APIs).
Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
Experience with cloud security tools and technologies (e.g., SIEM, CNAPP, CSPM).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications:
10+ years of IT-related support experience including 4+ years of Cloud Security experience.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent on-the-job experience.
One or more of the following industry certifications is preferred: CCSP, CCSK, Google or Azure Certified Architects.
