Join our world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionFPL is seeking a Principal Employment Attorney at our Juno Beach headquarters. The responsibilities are as follows:Advise HR professionals and business unit leaders on all aspects of day-to-day employment-related matters, including hiring and discipline issues, reductions in force, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, internal investigations and restrictive covenants.Advise HR professionals and business unit leaders on emerging legislative and regulatory changes affecting employment obligations.Partner with HR professionals and business unit leaders to create a proactive strategy to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and legal standards, including developing best practices.Review and advise on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and legal standards.Develop and deliver training to HR professionals and business leaders on a wide variety of employment law matters.Represent the company in proceedings before administrative agencies (EEOC, DOL, OSHA, and state and local agencies).Responsible for pre-litigation and litigation matters from inception to trial, including discovery, hearing, mediation, dispositive motions and trial.Draft and negotiate employment-related documents including employment, separation, non-competition, confidentiality and consulting agreements.Support M&A activities.Ideal candidate will have:JD from an accredited school with exceptional academic credentials.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience at a national law firm or as in-house counsel.Member in good standing with the Florida bar or ability to be admitted to Florida bar (including taking the Florida bar exam).Litigation experience, including jury trial experience.Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks, including economic, legal and reputational.Ability to effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization.Ability to self-motivate, to work with minimal supervision, and assume significant responsibility.Excellent organizational and analytical skills.Willingness to contribute to substantive areas outside of employment law, including partnering with cross-functional teams and legal practitioners in other areas.Must be willing to travel within and outside Florida.Job Overview
