$85,000 - $100,000Specific offers within the listed pay ranges are determined by a variety of factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and business needs.Responsibilities:Work with and coordinate effectively with the Customer Support team, peer Cogent teams, as well as vendors, in order to ensure swift resolution of customer and Network issues.Monitor the network through the alarm and ticket management systems.Perform maintenance work events.Monitor and respond to department email inbox.Ability to work professionally with customers, vendors, and internal groups under all circumstances.Manage customer expectations and escalation support needs directly or with the Customer Support Team.Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to provide excellent customer service to Cogent Customers.Must excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success.Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.Reliable employment history with strong attendance and punctuality records.Available to work in an onsite NOC environment: Start ASAP.Shift: Overnights team 2300E-0700E Days TBD to include one Weekend day. (Flexibility is a must).Proficiency on Cisco equipment experience and certifications.Experience with Remedy type ticketing system and NMS alarm systems.Strong technical knowledge in the area of networking (TCP/IP), IP protocols (BGP, IGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS...), IP addressing, DNS's and IP-VPN's is desired.Strong problem-solving skills.Experience with optical equipment is a plus.Covid-19 Policy:Cogent has adopted a mandatory vaccination and booster policy which requires all U.S. employees to be fully vaccinated with one booster against COVID-19.
