In Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time.

In this role, the Operations and Maintenance Senior Engineer (O&M) will execute multiple aspects of the Operations and Maintenance discipline to keep the system running and up to date. Responsibilities will include monitoring production systems, updating production and test systems, troubleshooting issues, logging defects and implementing temporary workarounds, and engaging with end users and stakeholders. This role is located in Dulles, Virginia.

This role will work with the customer and engineering leadership to analyze and document customer issues, problem resolution, and customer follow-up for release activities and ad hoc problem reports generated by the user community. The O&M Senior Engineer will work with the team to identify and assign local and reach back resources to resolve, track, and deploy solutions to customer generated questions, problem reports and pop-up queries. The O&M Senior Engineer will also have continual contact with the user community for day-to-day issues.

The candidate must also possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapidly changing circumstances, effectively network, and communicate to the relevant stakeholders.

What You Will Do

Work with a small team of 4-8 to maintain several instances of a system including production and test systems including working Operations and Maintenance of a software-based system in a DevSecOps environment.

Communicate and present complex technical issues across various audiences including customers, executives, program management, and individual contributors.

Aid in root cause analysis of issues and anomalies as encountered and document, communicate impact, and ensure resolutions are implemented and verified.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Experience with system engineering and technical leadership with software systems.

Experience supporting agile development activities, including requirements specification and integration test and verification activities (full life-cycle).

Experience interacting with external customers, including both programmatic and technical presentation experience.

Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI with Poly security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Obtain and maintain access as required by program.

Qualifications We Prefer:

SIGINT, GEOINT, or Multi-INT Intelligence Community (IC) background with end user mission experience.

Experience with cloud-based software architectures and systems.

Ability to maintain technical cost and schedule for systems engineering and software integration.

Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to articulate intent, frame requirements, set priorities, develop practical methods, and align resources to meet goals.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
