What We Need:
We’re seeking a Senior Rendering Engineer to help bring our game to life. In this role, you’ll research, develop, debug, and optimize techniques for large-scale 3D environments across various platforms. Collaborating with artists and engineers, you'll combine existing technologies with innovative solutions, managing tools, materials, and shaders to meet quality and performance standards. Additionally, you’ll implement advanced rendering techniques, while optimizing rendering pipelines to resolve performance issues. Your expertise will drive the integration of new technologies, pushing the visual boundaries of our game. By fostering collaboration and communication, you’ll help create an innovative environment that enhances creativity and technical excellence, making your contributions vital to the game's aesthetic quality and overall player experience.
Responsibilities:
Solve complex problems in a collaborative and creative environment across multiple platforms.
Excel at bringing design and artistic concepts to life by authoring, building, and managing runtime components that function across various platforms and at scale.
Understand, balance, explain, and negotiate trade-offs in fidelity, performance, and workflow.
Quickly identify and leverage existing research, tools, and technologies to accelerate feature implementation.
Reinforce best practices while effectively representing the interests and priorities of the rendering team.
Required Qualifications:
3-5 years of real-time rendering engineering/graphics programming experience, with demonstrated 3D math skills and proficiency in C/C++.
Strong knowledge of rendering techniques, including rasterization, ray tracing, and post-processing effects.
Expertise in shader languages (GLSL, HLSL) and experience in shader development.
Proficiency with GPU APIs (e.g., OpenGL, DirectX) and modern graphics APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan, or Metal.
Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork abilities, along with a curious mindset that engages with the latest runtime rendering advancements.
Ability to research, analyze, and optimize code for performance, with experience using tools like PIX or RenderDoc.
Relevant Experience:
Experience with leading game engines, particularly Unreal Engine, and familiarity with their rendering pipelines.
A self-starter who can align with the team's goals but isn't hesitant to create solutions on their own.
The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $98,000 and $160,000 per year.
