Job Description - Physical Security Systems Application Specialist (3306246)GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
We are in search of a seasoned and highly proficient Physical Security Systems Application Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for supporting and maintaining access control, CCTV, CAD reporting, and visitor management applications and servers. This role demands a robust background in information technology, a minimum of five years pertinent experience, and a bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Access Control Systems:
Installs and upgrades hardware, operating systems and/or appropriate software, including monthly security patches for access control systems.Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain access control systems, including those from Honeywell, Genetec, and Software House.Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of access control systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute access control device programming and ensure on-prem server maintenance.Provide technical support identifying, investigating, and resolving users’ problems.Occasionally cover Photo ID Station in a fast-paced, high-volume area.Occasionally process access request tickets/emails.
CCTV Systems:
Installs and upgrades hardware, operating systems and/or appropriate software, including monthly security patches for on-prem CCTV systems.Manage and monitor prem CCTV systems, showcasing expertise in Milestone CCTV systems, for surveillance and server maintenance.Perform regular inspections and maintenance of CCTV system equipment to guarantee optimal performance.
CAD Reporting:
Support the operation of Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) reporting tools to create and analyze security-related reports.
Visitor Management:
Oversee the visitor management system, ensuring accurate and secure visitor registrations.Conduct staff training on proper procedures related to visitor management, access control and VMS Systems.
Application and Server Support:
Provide technical support for security applications and servers, emphasizing specific experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server operating systems.Collaborate with IT teams to implement updates and patches, enhancing system security.
Other:
Update the department’s standard operating procedure (SOP) for access control, Video Management, CARD, Visitor Management systems.Provide Project Management on projects determined appropriate by the department’s Senior Manager of Systems and Technology.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:Profound knowledge of access control, CCTV (Video Management System), CAD reporting, and visitor management systems.Familiarity and hands-on experience with security systems from Honeywell, Genetec, Software House, and Milestone Video Management System.Strong proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server operating systems.Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS:Driver’s License (Required)EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (Required)EXPERIENCE:Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare or critical infrastructure setting (Required)Massachusetts General Hospital
