The Chief Estimator provides accurate and detailed cost estimates for Heavy Highway and Site Civil Construction projects. They must be able to bid on specialized projects that are time sensitive, have complex design elements and challenging constructability requirements. They must be able to utilize industry-standard software B2W, Bluebeam, etc. to prepare detailed estimates.Duties/Responsibilities:
Create, manage & analyze bid estimates from start to finish.Procure & review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine accurate cost estimates.Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.Analyze project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities for cost savings.Prepare bid packages and submit proposals to clients.Develop vendor & subcontractor solicitation strategies, analyze subcontractor bids and perform preliminary negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas for improvement.Minimum Requirements:MUST PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. Must be able to multi-task and accommodate multiple requests effectively. Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program is required.Professional Licenses/Certifications:
A Professional Engineering License and Registration in NY is preferred.Driver's License:
Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record required.
